The Historic Stilwell name has been synonymous with Port Arthur since the 1800’s. Lamar State College – Port Arthur contracted SETEX Construction Corp. to construct the outdoor plaza in the center of the campus in honor of the Stilwell name. The project consisted of demolition of an existing city street, installation of new pedestrian walkways with masonry in-lays connecting various campus buildings, ornamental light fixtures, extensive landscaping, flag poles and granite monuments.
