SETEX Construction was selected to perform sanitary sewer system repairs and infrastructure improvements at Smith and Odom Academy for Beaumont ISD. The project involved the removal of existing vegetation, deteriorated sanitary sewer infrastructure, and unsuitable fill material beneath the concrete slab, followed by installation of select fill and a new sanitary sewer system.
Due to the location of the existing plumbing systems beneath the school facility, specialized tunneling beneath the structure was required to safely access and replace the pipes without impacting the building above. This approach allowed the team to upgrade critical underground utilities while preserving the existing facility and minimizing disruption to the campus.
Additional work included grading, signage, seeding, sodding, and final site restoration to return the area to operational condition. Construction activities were carefully coordinated with Beaumont ISD staff, campus security, and maintenance personnel to ensure safety and allow normal school operations to continue throughout the project.
