SETEX Construction served as Construction Manager-at-Risk for the HUD-funded renovation of the historic Port Arthur Press Building. Originally built in 1940, the structure required extensive modernization to meet the needs of contemporary use while preserving its architectural character.
The finished facility now serves multiple functions — including an Emergency Operations Center, a commercial culinary training kitchen, and flexible co-working offices. Upgrades included a modernized building envelope, full MEP replacement, structural reinforcements, and refined interior finishes.
By blending historic preservation with modern performance standards, the Press Building showcases SETEX Construction’s expertise in adaptive reuse — delivering complex, multi-use facilities that balance heritage, function, and future growth.
